March Haiku #2

These old bones are warm
Pink peppercorn voices sound
Cold in the morning

Object

Meant for consumption
Am I sweet
Sour
Salty
Bitter
I am receding
Tasteless

Gaps

Strings and keys
My world
Fractured by his fear
And ink bleeds
Through the gaps
In his walls

#500

Still got someone
To hold my hand
And make me laugh
Still got someone
To talk to

In the small hours
About all that big stuff
Still got someone
To love

March Haiku #1

Little green eyed girl
Ever searching for honey
With a peppered tongue

Unmasked

Tonight I take the stage
Again
Unmasked before the judging
Bare before the crowd
Laid open and asking
Only to be seen
Heard
Met in the middle
Of love and pain

No Cry

First time in seven years
That I wasn't consumed by tears
At another year's passing
Another anniversary of shame
I didn't cry
I didn't fall
I didn't look back
I didn't surrender
First time in seven years
