Everywhere I Go

I seem to provoke
Anger and disgust
Everywhere I go
I do aim to simply
Mind my own business
Studying and pondering
But no matter
How I walk
How I talk
How I smile
Or don't
Everywhere I go
The negative reactions
Crackle about me
Unbound by manners
But I mustn't dwell
On such small matters
I've pain to keep me
Quiet and slow
Everywhere I go
Because, gods forbid
This strange ugly creature
Should ever reach her
Full empowerment
Unencumbered by illness
Assumptions, or social constructs
Designed to limit her
Complexity and fulfillment
